The results of our weekly Basin Harbor Triathlon are in! Emma Bushman was our Top Youth Female with a new basin harbor record of 19:08. Emma’s brother Charlie Bushman claimed Top Youth Male honors with a time of 19:40. Close behind were Marshall Bushman and Rick Bushman, finishing neck and neck! Our Top Female yesterday was Naomi Sleeper with a time of 21:51 and Top Male was Tom Bushman with a new basin harbor record of 19:10. A special award goes to Basin Harbor’s own Will Cox, our Waterfront bike guru, who set a new employee record! Congratulations to our hearty triathletes!
In other news, Carol McAfee of Baltimore, MD successfully completed her annual swim across Champlain with her bright orange bathing cap, alongside fellow swimmer Penn Griffen of Charleston, SC. The brave souls were accompanied by respective spouses Ralph Arnsdorf and Weezie Griffen in kayaks, and received some cheering on by the group of rowers in a 19th century pilot gig replica. Well done, Carol and Penn! The lake will be waiting for you next year!
